What is Near Protocol?

Near Protocol (NEAR) is a decentralised application platform that seeks to accelerate the process of dApp development.
 

• The network runs on a Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism called Nightshade. This consensus aims to provide dynamic scalability to stabilise fees.
• NEAR Protocol created a set of tools that assist with development, on-boarding, integration and more.
• NEAR token is the native utility token used for fees, staking and governance voting.

Near Protocol has set out to build a technology framework designed to make apps similarly usable to those on today's web.
